Cisco Systems and MATI - Russian State Technology University established another Cisco Regional Networking Academy. MATI students will attend Cisco Academy courses at the departments related to information technologies. Future professors of the Academy will be taught and certified in Cisco Academy Training Center in Edinburgh University. On top of that, Cisco Systems will grant its hardware and software for training labs and provide assistance in carrying out the training. The first studies within the framework of Cisco Networking Academy program (CNAP) will begin in Spring 2000. The course spans 4 semesters. Students will master up-to-date networking technologies, operation of routers, routing protocols, principles of virtual private networking and protocols of wide-area networks. The number of Cisco Regional Academies in Russia has reached six now. On top of MATI, such Academies operate in Moscow Physical and Technical Institute, Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute, Moscow State University, Ural State University, and Saint-Petersburg State Technical University.
