Since November 30, 1999, the Renaissance Insurance Group is offering a new service to its customers: online insurance services via Internet. Virtual office of the company is located at its website www.renins.com. In three years, the specialists estimate the amount of online sales worldwide at US$ 184 bln., with insurance services constituting the significant portion of this market. A number of e-commerce systems is already being deployed in Russia, yet the major hindrance is the underdevelopment of card payments practice in the country. Renaissance Insurance Group has solved this problem, too. If the customer does not have a credit card, he can print the bill from the insurance site and pay it in the nearest bank office. The company says that now every Internet user in Russia can visit its virtual office and make insurance agreements for him/herself and his/her children, for cases of road accidents, realty damage, etc., as well as make insurance agreements for travelling abroad. All financial transactions of the virtual office are reported to be performed in the secure zone of ASSIST system. The system is run by Platina bank. On top of that, the www.renins.com portal provides complete information about insurance market, procedures, and terms. The virtual office is permanently attended by on-line manager who can provide immediate help to the customer. Future plans of Renaissance Insurance Group call for introduction of new services, including computer insurance, insurance of corporate networks, network reputation and network intellectual property rights.
