IT InfoArt Stars: four years in Internet businesses

Russian company IT InfoArt Stars celebrated the 4th anniversary of its active operation in the field of Internet business on November 21, 1999. The company had begun its operation in Internet even earlier, in late 1993, by publishing online version of ComputerWeek-Moscow newspaper. Counter of visitors of INFOART.RU webserver (named RITMPRESS.RU at that time) is on since NetCom'95 expo in late September 1995. The birthday of the company, however, is believed to be November 21, 1995, when the site officially started its Internet broadcasting.

Today IT InfoArt Stars provides online publications of news, analytic and other articles. It also works on development, improvement and deployment of Internet technologies, Internet broadcasting, up-to-the-date marketing technologies, as well as collection, production and distribution of information.

The company owns a suite of Internet resources, including INFOART.RU information and search site (http://wwwinfoart.ru) and Internet Stars catalog (http://wwwstars.ru) which are among the oldest and the most popular Internet resources in Russian. The company's servers register more than 50,000 visitors daily, with about 10 Gbytes of daily traffic. Information is hosted at a few dozens of mirror sites throughout Russia and CIS countries, distributed through dozens of topical push channels and iDigest mailing channels to tens of thousands of subscribers.

Using its iTV (http://wwwinfoart.ru/itv/) service, IT InfoArt Stars is broadcasting daily video newsreels, including mass media digests, news of space and information technologies, weather forecasts, etc. It also holds online meetings with interesting persons, make reports from various events, arranges press conferences. Video broadcasting is based on the two most popular technologies, NetShow and RealVideo.

IT InfoArt Stars is maintaining the Internet Stars bilingual catalog of the most interesting and useful Internet resources (http://wwwstars.ru). Currently it lists about 18,000 Internet sites, both Russian and foreign.

On the day of its fourth anniversary, IT InfoArt Stars offered another service for owners of websites and resources registered in Internet Stars catalog. The centralized iSite system provides a whole pack of services and add-ons for Web designers. Now they can easily build new services at their websites by just including compact fragments of HTML code (the client portion) in their pages. Services may include, e.g., chat, Web mail, visitors' counter, or banner control system. Calls and requests of these services are processed at IT InfoArt Stars webservers.
