The Russian Mission Control Center (MCC) for space missions has replaced the core of its network facilities. Now the network backbone is formed by switch and router from Cisco Systems. Reconfiguration of MCC network was needed because of its expansion for operation within the framework of International Space Station program.

MCC networking facilities are being upgraded according to long-term MCC strategy for relationships with vendors. Currently the Center utilizes Hewlett-Packard computing and measurement hardware, Barco projection equipment, some graphic applications from Silicon Graphics. Cisco Systems was selected as the networking vendor. Value-added reseller for the entire solution is Russian company SCAN, which is Hewlett-Packard partner and Cisco Systems Premier Partner.
