Moscow office of Microsoft corporation and Commersant Publishers announced kick-off of a new non-profit project. The project will allow Russian users to prepare for new date format after the millenium midnight. The joint efforts will include free distribution (with only shipment fees applied in some cases) of a specially published CD. The disk contains educational materials and patches to Microsoft products providing their Y2K compatibility. The CD will be delivered to all Q4, 1999, subscribers of "Commersant-Vlast" and "Commersant-Dengy" magazines in Moscow and St.Petersburg along with the printed copies. The other readers of these magazines can order the disk by mail. On top of that, both Commersant Publishers and Microsoft office in Moscow will widely mail the compact disk using their respective subscribers' and users' databases. Source: InfoArt News Agency
