Annual forum "Intellectual Enterprise '99" was held in Moscow, in the building of Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), on November 4, 1999. The event was devoted to technologies of automatization of enterprises and included a conference, a tradeshow and a set of round tables.

The present forum was the fifth in a row and was attended by about 1,500 participants. The following fields were presented at the event: automatization of large organizations and enterprises; document management systems; banking systems; Internet/Intranet technologies; analytical systems; consulting and financial analysis; support systems for decision-making; accounting solutions; archives management solutions; paperless technologies; scanner technologies; and a number of other areas.

Unlike the previous forums, organizers of "Intellectual Enterprise '99" paid a lot of attention to implementation and deployment of new information technologies, such as information and analytical systems, Internet/Intranet, decision-making support, etc.

The Forum was attended by more than 30 vendors, including Hewlett-Packard, IBM, IBS, Lotus Development, R-Style, Seiko Epson, Cognitive Technologies, Croc Inc., Alter Systems, IT, Vest, Intertrust, ProSoft-M, PROMT, Center Invest Soft, some divisions of RAS institutes specializing in enterprise automatization, and others.

Organizers of the Forum also say that this year they made special invitations for decision-makers, such as heads of banks divisions, large businesses and governmental institutions, etc. The list of these persons was significantly broadened, first of all, by including representatives of the top 200 Russian industrial enterprises according to Expert magazine rating.
