According to press center of Rosenergoatom concern, all efforts on fixing the millennium problem at Russia nuclear power plants are carried out as scheduled. Inventarization and testing performed at the plants did not reveal any date-sensitive equipment and IT systems which could directly affect the safety of the power units. Yet date parameters may be used in certain auxiliary systems, in particular, in power supply systems. Taking this into account, personnel trainings are currently being held to prepare for various possible situations which may occur at the power plants.

Within the framework of this program, another training was held last week at Kursk power plant in central Russia. The scenario included the following situations: failure of the Skala information system which provides real-time data from power units; switching off the VL-750 "North Ukrainian" power line; decreasing the frequency in the power network beyond the tolerable limit. On top of regular personnel of the power plant, dispatchers of Russian power systems and a team of American experts were also engaged in the training.
