Two weeks ago Apple Computer announced its decision to downgrade the CPUs (central processing units) in new series of its Power Mac G4 computers, with the prices of the machines remaining unchanged. Apple's officials substantiated this change by lack of G4 processors, saying that Motorola's manufacturing facilities cannot provide the production in required volume. Now customers who have ordered the new computers at Apple's website and already paid for them have either to accept a less powerful model or to contribute a significant addition to their payments. MacCentre company, Apple distributor in Russia, has selected another way. The company believes that never the vendor's problems should be solved on the customer's expense, especially if the customer has made an order in advance and fully paid it. MacCentre officials announced that all G4 orders, paid not later than October 15, 1999, will be carried out in due time and for the previously established prices. Source: InfoArt News Agency
