Russian vendor announces servers on Supermicro platform

Aquarius Data, a Russian computer hardware vendor, announced its new developments in entry-level enterprise servers. The products are based on Supermicro motherboards. New models offered by Aquarius Data belong to what is called "economic series" and are destined for small enterprises and workgroups totaling up to 30 workseats.

Currently there is a trend towards increasing demand for entry-level servers at Russian market. Principal consumers of these machines are small to medium enterprises, governmental and municipal institutions, organizations funded from the state budget.

Three new models are offered, AquaServer ES100, ES200, and ES300. All of them have Windows NT 4.0 Server preinstalled, 3Com Fast EtherLink III network adapter card and 32x CD-ROM. Options include additional fans, HDD hot swapping support, etc.

Supermicro motherboards has four 168-pin DIMM slots and can be furnished with up to 2 Gbytes of 100 MHz SDRAM. They can also host two Intel Pentium II or III processors. Supermicro also allow to monitor the operation of the computer and to protect the server against viruses.
