Russian company enters the list of finalists of Microsoft contest

Microsoft corporation announced the list of finalists of 1999 Microsoft Certified Solution Provider Partner of the Year Award and annual contest of the best solutions for corporate market. For the first time in five-year history of the contest, a Russian company has entered the top list. It is worth attention, Infoart notes, that there are only three non-US companies among 24 finalists in eight nominations of this contest, ranked as "computer Oskar". Digital Design company from St.-Petersburg, Russia, entered the final in Best Knowledge Management Solution - Business Intelligence nomination. This high award was given by the independent jury to the decision-making assistance system, deployed in financial department of October Railways. (The latter is one of the top Russian railway carriers, with its service territory spanning from Moscow to St.-Petersburg and Murmansk.) The system is designed for making effective enterprise-level management solutions based on complete real-time analysis of financial information, as well as revealing the trends and composing the forecasts.

The solution has been developed by Digital Design for about 12 months. It utilizes new features of Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, which provide building corporate date warehouses and OLAP systems.

Digital Design has a highly qualified team of software engineers, including 13 certified developers (MCSD) and 9 certified system engineers (MCSE). All products are developed in strict compliance with ISO 9001 standard. The company is a partner of Microsoft and works in close cooperation with Microsoft office in Moscow. In particular, it was an official beta tester of Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 and Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0. Both products played an essential part in building its solution.
