In Russia Internet festival-99 will be held in July 30 - September 30, 1999. It is targeted at providing Internet users with possibility of knowing the best works in the Russian Internet, assessing advanced Internet technologies, meeting new friends and revealing new ways of human communication in virtual computer area, realizing what the Russian Internet is like today.

The central events of the festival will be Census of Russian Internet users and celebration of Internet Day. As in the lasr year in the course of the action it is planning to reveal qualitative aspects of the Russian Internet audience. Last year more than 1,5 mln people visited Census page and more than 30000 forms were filled in. Thus, every 3 seconds on the page of Census a visit was registered and on the average every 3 minutes a new filled in form was sent. And it was like this during 2 months!

This year the program of the festival will consist of the following subject weeks: personalized Internet, mass media, Russian Web-sites, world literature, pocket and personal computers, Internet TV and Internet technologies as well as computer creative work. Internet techpark, Internet exhibitions and book fair will be opened.

The competitive program of the festival will include the following events: "Internet Stars" (competition of the best Internet resourses: information and subject, art and media sites), "Golden Pen" (works of literature first published in Internet; publicism, poetry, prose); "Internet Universe" (popular scientific articles devoted to Internet); photo competitions - "Internet Necklace" (nominations "infanta", "princess" and "queen"), "Charm" (summer and autumn landscapes), "Photo smile"; competitions of children creative work "Orange sky"; competitions and games on history, culture and sport.

Rating of competitive works will be made by Internet users (audience sympathy) as well as by expert judges.

The virtual Internet-conference devoted to the Internet problems in Russia will be held during the festival. Reports on the following themes will be presented on it: "Creation of Web-sites", "Internet marketing and business", "Telecommunications systems and solutions", "Software technologies", "Internet and mass media", "Internet and politics", "Internet, science and education", "Games and entertainment", "Traditional and odd art in Internet", "Internet as a medium of communication".

The festival will be over in September 30 - Internet Day. This day results of all the contests will be summed up and awarding ceremony will be held.
