Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard and IT InfoArt Stars form an alliance to promote Internet TV in Russia

Moscow offices of Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard companies and Russian content provider IT InfoArt Stars announced new joint initiative aimed at promotion of Internet TV in Russian segment of Internet. The three companies will provide technical, technological and arrangement assistance to various national and regional broadcasting studios, which are planning to operate or already operating in this field.

Each member of the alliance makes his contribution in form of products and technologies, the conjunction of which will yield basic solutions for arranging Internet TV broadcasting. Hewlett-Packard offers rack-mounted servers, based on both Intel and RISC platforms. Microsoft has developed a number of software products and technologies, such as Microsoft NetShow, Media Player and Media Services. This set of software allows to perform multimedia Internet projects, basing on products from a single vendor.

IT InfoArt Stars is a young company established in February 1999, with Internet broadcasting being one of the principal fields of its activity. In particular, during the past months the company held a lot of Internet briefings, seminars and press conferences, attended by many leading Russian politicians and economists. Using Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard products for its solutions, IT InfoArt Stars is going to finish its developments in this area as a turnkey solution, which would provide transmission of multimedia content and might be utilized by other companies.
