Lucent Technologies, a specialist in communication hardware, is exhibiting its newest technologies and solutions in the field of data/voice/video integration at Svyaz/Expo Comm'99 show in Moscow this week. The company offers the entire concept of building telecommunications network of the new generation. It is addressed towards both telco operators and corporate users with existing communications infrastructure and newly established companies who are just beginning to provide telecommunication services. Lucent Technologies is demonstrating a solution for corporate users at the show. An operating example of a corporate network, based on the most up-to-date products of the company, is presented at Lucent's booth. The core of the corporate LAN are new Cajun switches, designed for a great variety of networking solutions ranging from workgroups to enterprise information systems. Switches of Cajun Campus Family provide Ethernet connectivity at 10, 10/100, 100 and 1000 Mbps. They support various types of traffic and corresponding networking technologies, combined with excellent performance and productivity. The network may be accessed by means of wireless technologies, using WaveLAN family of products. The corporate network at Lucent's booth is also linked with the network of its partner, ICS company, by means of AX 500 switch and AC 60/120 access platform. These products are based on ATM technology and provide voice and data integration. Voice traffic may be transferred both in circuit emulation mode and via IP network, using the ITS-E Internet telephony server and DEFINITY IP-Trunk embedded module. The entire scope of solutions for telco operators is presented by up-to-date products for central offices: 5ESS-2000 AnyMedia Switch platform, ATM switches and IP routers, ITS-SP and PacketStar IP Gateway 1000 Internet telephony gateways, intelligent networking platforms. In particular, Lucent demonstrates PacketStar ITS-SP products for Internet telephony services. The ITS-SP server at the company's booth is connected with a similar product in the network of local PSTN operator via Internet. This allows to make phone calls to subscribers throughout the city using IP protocol for voice communications. Switching, access and wireless sections of the booth include AnyMedia Access System and AnyMedia OPAL 3000 multiservice access platforms, IRT/SWING/AirLoop wireless solutions, Internet access servers with V5.1/V5.2 support for voice communications, ISDN, and HDSL/ADSL/VDSL. Also demonstrated are ATM-based passive optical networks (PON), hybrid fiber/coax (HFC) networks for broadband access, technologies of dial-up Internet access and DECT/CDMA-2 wireless access. Svyaz/Expo Comm'99 show is taking place in Moscow on May 11 to 15, 1999. This is the major Russian exhibition in telecommunications industry and is being held for the 11th time.
