Russian insurance company ROSNO (Russian Insurance People's Society) announced completion of its efforts aimed at providing year 2000 compatibility of its IT systems and facilities. The company has already notified its customers and partners about Y2K readiness. ROSNO also asked them, from their side, to try anticipating new risks and losses related to that problem.

ROSNO appealed to financial institutions calling them to do their best to protect the interests of their customers and business partners. The proposal is to make corresponding efforts and notify the partners about the work done for providing Y2K compatibility. Once the programs will be completed and hardware and software will be upgraded successfully, the companies should widely declare their ability to provide smooth transition to the new millennium in mass media.

On top of that, ROSNO is ready to insure, either itself or in cooperation with other insurance companies, the responsibility for Y2K-related risks and losses. The service is available if the customer has performed the necessary work to solve the millennium problem and made a public statement on Y2K readiness of its IT systems.
