Russian software vendor Cognitive Technologies announced a new document management system, Euphrates 99 Deluxe. According to company's officials, the product forms a solution for electronic document management, building and maintaining the electronic archive which may include documents of various types: texts, tables, graphic images, audio and video records.

The system allows to add document to the archive, supply them with necessary attributes, structurize the archive by moving documents to a hierarchic system of folders, and use various tools for finding the desired document. It may operate both in local (personal) mode and in networked client-server mode.

Once the document is found, it may be viewed without calling external programs. Built-in viewer supports MS Office 95/97 formats (DOC, XLS, PPT), text formats (RTF, HTML, TXT in ASCII, ANSI, and KOI-8 codepages), color and technicolor graphic formats (TIF, PCX, JPG, BMP, GIF), and other kinds of documents.

Minimal system requirements for Euphrates 99 Deluxe operation include Intel-compatible computer (Pentium-based of higher recommended), MS Windows 95/98 with Cyrillic support or Windows NT 4.0, 16 MBytes RAM (32 MBytes recommended), up to 24 MBytes of free disk space for Euphrates 99 Deluxe and 14 MBytes for Euphrates 99 Deluxe Document Server.
