Kaspersky Lab, the leading Russian antiviral software vendor, announced its new Help Desk service. It will be available round the clock to users of Kaspersky products worldwide. Previously the working hours of Kaspersky Lab support service were 10.00 AM to 6.30 PM (MSK), obviously being not very convenient for a number of users. The well-known AVP family of products is recognized by specialists as one of the most powerful antiviral products worldwide and is being widely used in all time zones, from New Zealand to Alaska. Since the community of AVP users has become so diversified in geography, the company has made a decision to launch round-the-clock antiviral support in both Russian and English. Now, any registered user of AVP products can contact with Kaspersky Lab experts by e-mail at any time, from any location. On top of that, round-the-clock phone consultations are also available for owners of corporate licenses. Individuals can contact AVP support service by phone at 7.00 AM to 11.00 PM (MSK) now - nearly twice longer as compared to the previous schedule. AVP support in America region is being carried out by local distributor of Kaspersky Lab products, Central Command Inc. (http://wwwavp.com). The company is running its own antiviral support center. The nearest plans call for implementation of support in a few more languages, including German, French and Spanish, as well as expansion of the USA technical center and its integration with AVP worldwide support service. ================== Acer begins AcerAltos 500 shipments in Russia The Russian office of Acer has begun shipments of its new entry-level server AcerAltos 500. According to company officials, the new model is positioned for operation as the basic server in small enterprises, as well as file server, application server or communication server in department and remote office LANs. The server is equipped with Intel Pentium II 350/400/450 MHz or Intel Pentium III processor and is based on Intel 440 BX chipset with 100 MHz bus frequency.
