Russian value-added reseller IBS signed an agreement with Gartner Group, a well-known analytic and consulting company, on Y2K-related services. Under the agreement, IBS customers in Russia will be offered a pack of services on evaluation of risks, associated with the millennium problem, for their information systems and business products. Gartner Group will supply IBS with products and services, needed for performing such evaluations, as well as train IBS staff. Specialists from Gartner Group will also take part in a number of IBS projects.

IBS customers include the top Russian oil and gas companies, financial institutions, telecom operators, industrial enterprises, governmental structures. Typically these organizations, as well as IBS itself, have sufficient technological resources for successful solution of the Y2K problem. Yet the limited time, remaining for solution of the problem in practice, puts strict requirements on arranging and managing this process.
