The 4th International Business Forum "Mobile Systems - 99" took place on March 22 through 26, 1999, in Center for International Trade in Moscow. The event was arranged by Russian A.S.Popov Scientific and Technical Unity of Radiotechnique, Electronics and Communications, Association of Russian Cellular Operators in NMT-450, GSM, AMPS-800 and CDMA standards, National Radio Association, International Center of Scientific and Technical Information, and Mobile Communications Scientific and Technical Center. 482 specialists from various companies have registered for participation in the Forum.

The program of the Forum included about 40 events. Educational courses in the most up-to-date technologies of mobile communications (GSM, TETRA, W-CDMA, ATM, and others) were supplemented by seminars and presentations of global personal communications systems (GSM, Iridium, D-AMPS, Internet, Globalstar, and others). 45 vendors took part in "Mobile Systems - 99" expo. A number of conferences and round tables were to be arranged, including "Economy and Marketing at Mobile Communications Market", "Strategy of Migration to New Generation of Mobile Communications", "Russia on Its Way Towards 3rd Generation Mobile Systems".
