Kaspersky Lab announces AVP for Linux beta
Kaspersky Lab (http://wwwavp.ru), a leading developer of antiviral
software, announced the beta version of its AntiViral Toolkit Pro (AVP) for
Linux operating system.
The company highlights the fact that during the past few years Linux gained
popularity not only among a limited number of specialists but also among a
broad community of users. Yet, up to recently, this operating system lacked
a complete system for antiviral protection.
AVP for Linux is based on the existing core, which is used in the other AVP
products. The core is also licensed for use in antiviral products of some
other vendors, including Data Fellows (Finland), G-Data (Germany), and
Vintage Solutions (Japan).
The new tool provides protection against more than 26,000 of known viruses
and malicious codes, including polymorphic viruses, stealth viruses, Trojan
horses, HTML- and macroviruses. The product supports the most popular
archive formats, antiviral e-mail filtering, new advanced algorithm for
euristic analysis, extended scanning mode.
