Investment possibilities in Russia on the Web
Another Internet service is launched in Russia to assist both domestic and
foreign investors. The program, named "Investment possibilities in Russia",
provides a vast database on regional investment projects. According to
Dmitry Vasilyev, the chairman of the Federal Committee on Securities (FCCB)
of Russia, availability of these data via Internet will allow the future
investors to make a detailed analysis of the investments in these projects.
The Internet service, initiated by FCCB, will gather information about
investment projects of enterprises in Russian regions and compose a
centralized database. While doing this, preliminary processing of the data
and their representation in the form required by Western investors will be
performed. Information about Russian enterprises will be provided to 5,000
investment funds, as well as to large corporations and Trade and Commerce
Chambers of many countries. The service will also provide detailed maps of
all Russian regions, including the major railways, airports, etc.
The project is carried out by the consortium including the National Agency
for Valuation, the Institute of the Funding Market and Management, and Pro
Invest Consulting company. The latter is the nation-wide leader in
development of specialized software.
The new service will be integrated with the international information
project IPA Net, which is built within the framework of the World Bank
program for support of investment projects worldwide.
