New Paragon Software products to be presented at CeBIT'99
Russian software vendor Paragon Software (http://wwwparagon.ru) presents
two new products at the CeBIT'99 show, Paragon Festplatten Manager and
Paragon DriveBackup Enterprise.
As stated by the company's officials, the Paragon Festplatten Manager suite
provides the system administrator with a complete set of functions for hard
disk management. It includes the following components:
- BootManager 98 - a tool for convenient co-existence of several
operating systems at the same computer;
- PartitionManager - a program for creating, converting and resizing
hard disk partitions without formatting;
- DriveBackup - the utility for making backup copies and restoring the
selected partitions or the entire disk.
These programs are also being released as separate software products,
PTS-BootManager, PTS-PartitionManager, and PTS-DriveBackup.
CeBIT'99 participants will see a new version of PartitionManager, which
supports NTFS and Linux file systems. It also allows to change the size of
NTFS and Ext2FS (Linux) partitions without re-formatting, thus eliminating
data loss while reconfiguring the disk.
The other product is destined for corporate users and is entitled Paragon
DriveBackup Enterprise. This is the network version of DriveBackup utility,
which allows to clone hard disks and disk partitions via the network. The
unique feature of this version is multicasting support for concurrent
copying the hard disk to multiple workstations. The company says that the
product is equivalent to popular Norton Ghost program in functionality or
exceeds it.
