Center for Corporate Developments provides immortality to Palm III
Russian company Center for Corporate Developments, a specialist in
application of palmtop computers for enterprise automatization, announced a
new docking station for Palm III. The product named Charging Cradle
utilizes a special rechargeable battery instead of the conventional one. It
is being charged while the organizer is being placed in the cradle.
According to the company, the major advantage of the device is its
compatibility with standard Palm III. It does not require any modifications
of Palm III itself, thus retaining the vendor's warranty. The product will
be shipped in three versions, powered from PC computer, Macintosh computer
and AC socket, respectively. Rechargeable batteries are included into all
configurations.
Charging Cradle will be available since mid-March 1999 for approximately
US$ 100. Since May 1999, all Palm III's being sold by the Center for
Corporate Developments will be accompanied by the new device instead of the
standard cradle.
