UNI opens the "xDSL Workzone"
Russian company UNI announced the launch of "xDSL Workzone" within the
framework of its program for promotion of PairGain xDSL products to the
Russian market.
For the last few years, a great interest to various "last mile" solutions
is arising among Russian customers. Using the existing copper wiring
appears to be the most popular and affordable option in many cases. This
cable infrastructure has been built for years under the USSR governmental
program on communications. Most of these cables have never been used to
their full performance, and today they are literally the "treasure digged
in the ground". Thus the solutions which allow to make effective use of the
previous investments into cable infrastructure draw the most interest in
Russia. Various xDSL technologies make long-range communications by means
of two or four copper wires and are most frequently quoted as the preferred
"last mile" solution.
Being the Platinum Partner of PairGain Technologies, UNI assists Russian
customers to build their skills in xDSL application. To this end, training
facilities are established in UNI network laboratory. They allow potential
customers to get acquainted with the basics of installation and
configuration of the chosen hardware, as well as obtain practical knowledge
in its exploitation.
On top of that, NTC educational center of computer and networking
technologies, which is a part of UNI Corporation, will start new three-day
courses on xDSL technologies in March. Practical training under these
courses will be based on PairGain products.
