Sony CD Duplicators Duplicate Up to Six CDs Simultaneously
Nov. 18, 1998--Sony today announced the shipping of its SDS series of CD
duplicators, designed for the diverse in-house CD duplication needs of
multimedia and software development, government agency and SOHO corporate
use. At the touch of a button, the systems' stand-alone operations, advanced
diagnostics and error checking allow companies to easily duplicate up to six
CDs simultaneously with the SDS-C400/66, and up to three CDs simultaneously
with the SDS-C400/36.
The SDS-C400/66 and SDS-C400/36 feature one CD-ROM reader and six and three
4X write/6X read CD-R drives, respectively. The duplicators feature built-in
VGA, keyboard and parallel printer connections for greater control over
duplication sessions. For maximum flexibility, the SDS-C400 series supports
the following writable formats and modes: CD-I, CD Bridge, Photo CD, Video
CD, CD-ROM Modes 1 and 2, and CD-ROM XA. The systems also offer user ID and
password protection helping to prevent unauthorized use of the duplicator.
The SDS series is currently available through authorized Sony resellers. The
SDS-C400/66 and SDS-C400/36 4X duplicators have suggested list prices of
$9,680 and $7,970, respectively.
